Job Summary
The Training and Development Coordinator plays a central role in identifying, planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating training and development programmes across Ocado’s Australian engineering operations. This role supports capability building, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance through structured training solutions. The role also provides additional support (approx. 15%) to HSE-related training compliance, ensuring mandatory workplace safety training is embedded within the broader learning function.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Focus (85%) – Training and Development
1. Training Strategy and Needs Analysis
- Identify learning and development needs across all engineering roles in collaboration with site leadership.
- Develop tailored training plans, onboarding pathways, and upskilling programmes to meet operational goals.
- Ensure training programmes align with compliance obligations, operational requirements, and performance metrics.

- Drive an effective onboarding experience for new hires by managing induction processes and ensuring timely training assignment.
- Ensure all new staff complete mandatory training and that documentation is accurately captured in the LMS.
- Provide coaching on the use of digital learning tools.

- Maintain and audit the Training Matrix across multiple sites.
- Generate regular compliance reports and performance dashboards for leadership.
- Liaise with external training providers, manage procurement, and coordinate training logistics.
- Raise and resolve training issues and queries with the global training team.

- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, completion data, and performance indicators.

6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary training contact for Engineering Operations in Australia.

- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Engineering Managers, People Partners, and the Global L&D team.
- Participate in global and regional meetings to represent Australia’s training needs and achievements.

- Ensure mandatory WHS and safety-related training is assigned and tracked in the LMS.
- Collaborate with the HSE Business Partner to coordinate safety inductions and refreshers.
- Maintain documentation and compliance for emergency response training (e.g. fire warden, first aid).
- Assist in onboarding safety protocols for engineering personnel.
- Support HSE audit preparation relating to training compliance.
- Ensure mandatory WHS and safety-related training is assigned and tracked in the LMS.
- Collaborate with the HSE Business Partner to coordinate safety inductions and refreshers.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in training coordination, ideally in an engineering, warehousing, or operations environment
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of LMS systems (e.g. Litmos) and Excel reporting
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS
- Experience working in FMCG, logistics, or high-compliance environments
- Experience developing or adapting training content
- Familiarity with safety compliance systems and legislative training standards
