The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of strategic technology initiatives supporting options trading platforms, market connectivity, risk systems, and front-office infrastructure in Tokyo. The role will partner closely with clients and internal stakeholders to drive complex projects across the Options Technology landscape.

This role is an ideal opportunity to play a major role within Client support globally. The ideal candidate combines strong technical delivery expertise with an understanding of trading workflows, low-latency systems, and financial markets infrastructure.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate: 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ Project Management experience in a technical environment.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Linux/Network management and deployment.
  • Strong English-Japanese bilingual ability, in both written and verbal communication.
  • An industry recognised Project Management or Service Desk qualification: PRINCE2, ITIL etc is desirable, but not essential.

Typical job duties would include:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects supporting Options platforms.
  • Proactively manage regional delivery backlog, implementing solutions to remove blockers and drive projects to completion.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and stakeholder communication across regional and global teams.
  • Drive Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination.
  • Track project risks, issues, and mitigation plans while ensuring timely escalation where appropriate.
  • Coordinate production releases, change management, and post-implementation reviews.

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own projects in a professional manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Project management skills and proven ability to manage own workload.
