You will be a part of the Workflow Crew in Corporate Technology, that builds workflow platforms for consumption by many Business Units within CBA.

Workflow platform is a group capability focusing on ensuring smooth, fit-for-purpose, technology aligned Workflow platforms are available for Business Application delivery. Our value comes from abstracting away the complexity and reducing the cognitive load from our Application Delivery teams so they can better serve our customers.  

They are a team of around 120 people spilt across Australia and India and are custodians of multiple self-serviceable platform product components that champion streamlined onboarding, automated operations, change management, code delivery, Agentic AI and end to end Telemetry. 

Do work that matters

As a Technical Product Owner for Workflow Crew, you will be responsible for leading squads to drive our engineering deliverables and product roadmaps.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap.

  • Act as voice of customer for CommBank engineers.

  • Balance delivering new functionality with continuously improving the product(s) reliability, observability and resilience.

  • Be accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.

  • Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team to coordinate a ‘one-team’ approach to problem solving.

  • “Soften the ground” for changes impacting customers using organisational change management principles and practices.

  • Provide clear lines of communication with stakeholders on the product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.

  • Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work.

  • Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.

  • Maintain a healthy prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.

  • Recommend and implement controls to mitigate key risks on the project

  • Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.

 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Proven Product leadership experience, ideally within engineering

  • Experience in defining Product Roadmaps and delivery of Product vision

  • Expertise in API design and tooling (OpenAPI, Kong)

  • Experience in low latency environments

  • Proficiency in any of the core programming languages (C#, Java, Python etc.) Microservices, containerisation

  • Have experience with cloud migrations, AI technologies, data lakes, CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with DevOps tools (Splunk, Grafana), API testing, security practices

  • Experience with Event-driven architectures, orchestration
