Shell Energy is excited to announce the newly created role of Technical Operations Lead – eMobility in our Melbourne team. In this pivotal position you will oversee technology-related operations, playing a pivotal role in the digitisation and simplification of our business. Your responsibilities include managing and utilising technology resources to maintain IT solutions and services that deliver business outcomes. You will be accountable for eMobility Technical Operations for Shell Energy’s eMobility team, initially focusing on building and leading a technical team, establishing foundational processes and systems for our core CSMS platform.
To succeed in this role, you must be passionate about the eMobility marketplace with proven experience in agile environments and managing SaaS products. You will act as the technical expert on the platform, a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, and provide second-level support through escalations from the eMobility helpdesk, ensuring innovative capabilities align with business strategy.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
Build and lead a technical team, including performance reviews and mentorship.
Manage task and project pipelines, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
Monitor and maintain eMobility systems, ensuring compliance, quality, and reliability.
Develop, update, and expand technical documentation and procedures.
Plan for system capacity, availability, and disaster recovery, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and conduct root cause analyses for operational improvements.
What you’ll bring:
Technical Leadership: 3+ years in technical operations leadership, application administration, and operational support with proven leadership abilities.
Infrastructure & Vendor Management: Skills in infrastructure design, implementation, support, and vendor management for internal projects.
Agile & Network Operations: Proficiency in Agile delivery practices, network operations, and field support.
eMobility & Industry Knowledge: Highly desirable experience in eMobility, telecommunications, or energy sectors, with strong knowledge of industry standards and protocols (e.g., CSMS, EVSE).
Technical & Analytical Skills: Expertise in LAN/WAN management, network operations, troubleshooting, embedded software, testing, and industry-standard documentation and reporting.
