What You Will Get To Do

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will:

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and system behaviours.
  • Work with architects to define solution options and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Build sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and integration workflows.
  • Define and document Non-Functional Requirements (performance, scalability, availability, logging, security).
  • Analyse, design, and document API contracts (REST/JSON, XML, SOAP, event-driven).
  • Produce integration specifications, including request/response structures, field-level mapping, validation rules, and error handling.
  • Perform data mapping and modelling, including field-level analysis and SQL queries to investigate data issues.
  • Write and refine technical user stories and acceptance criteria for API behaviour, data validation, and integration flows.
  • Support QA with test case design and test data preparation.
  • Provide technical support to developers during implementation, including clarifications and debug assistance.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on environment readiness and deployment impacts.
  • Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications, integration interface documents, and NFR packs.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong experience as a Technical BA, Systems Analyst, or Integration Analyst within a software engineering environment.
  • Solid understanding of API technologies (REST, JSON, XML, Swagger/OpenAPI).
  • Experience with data modelling, SQL, and data mapping.
  • Ability to create and interpret sequence diagrams and data flow diagrams.
  • Proven experience with Non-Functional Requirements definition (performance, scalability, logging, monitoring).
  • Worked closely with development, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Background in Agile/Scrum delivery.

Prior Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in the financial services industry (Funds, Wealth, Life & Pensions).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture or messaging systems (Kafka, MQ).
  • Experience working in distributed, multi-country engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of modern UI frameworks and their API interactions.
