Where the team fits in

As a Tech Learning & Development Specialist, you will bring forward-thinking learning & capability development expertise to our "School of Tech" - as part of the Tech Learning & Development squad within the Global Technology group.

Our mission is to unlock the unlimited potential of REA’s tech community. We are a small-but-mighty and close-knit team constantly expanding our understanding of how to grow tech capability within REA. We operate in house programs (including tech onboarding), managed self-paced learning platforms, nurture social learning through communities of practice (aka guilds), and aim to support continuous learning in the flow of work.

What the role is all about

The role will primarily focus on design and delivery of tech learning – including self-paced online learning resources and live facilitation. You will collaborate with our team to identify learning interventions aligned with REA strategy, collaborate with SMEs to build and deliver content, and work closely with our Tech Learning Coordinator to engage people with your solutions.

As an integral part of our team, you will:

  • Facilitate tech onboarding classrooms alongside SMEs – grow into owning our Tech Onboarding program

  • Grow capability by identifying and implementing learning solutions aligned with REA’s strategy

  • Create and edit video learning content – guided or provided by SMEs

  • Create self-paced online learning, and packaged course content that SMEs can pick up and deliver (with and/or without you!)

  • Take a data-driven approach by incorporating measurement into learning interventions from design to delivery, review, and iteration

  • Continuously evaluate and refine agile learning programs based on success measures

  • Guide REA facilitators through delivering your course content

  • Work with external learning vendors and learning platforms to curate content aligned with REA’s strategy

  • Work with our Tech L&D Coordinator to launch interventions, follow a communication plan for high learning engagement, manage attendance and occasionally assist with team coordination

  • Participate in daily stand-ups and embrace an Agile way-of-work

Who we’re looking for

  • A knack for crafting impactful, engaging, and accessible content that creates behaviour-based change

  • Comfortable with interviewing SMEs, liaising with stakeholders, chasing up roadblocks, and actively seeking feedback

  • Interest in delivering live classrooms, both in-person and via Zoom

  • You understand the importance of integrating data into every phase of design and delivery, enabling smooth reporting and continuous improvement

  • Open to learning Agile project management principles to deliver iterative learning programs that improve over time

  • At ease with picking up new learning technologies to create online learning content for REA University and deliver live experiences on Zoom

  • Passionate about continuous self-improvement and learning what you need to build a career in tech learning & development

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
