Are you a tax professional with a passion for compliance, reporting, and strategic advisory? 

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Lead to manage all tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities across Versent Group. This pivotal role ensures robust tax governance, particularly in direct and indirect tax, and leads entity rationalisation and closure projects.

As the subject matter expert, you’ll advise on tax implications, statutory reporting, and compliance risks—especially during restructuring or closure of group entities. You’ll also project manage end-to-end entity closure processes, collaborating closely with finance, legal, HR, operations, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation, review, and submission of all tax returns (income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, etc.) in accordance with legislation.

  • Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and restructuring.

  • Develop and maintain group-wide tax calendars, reconciliations, and audit documentation.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring timely compliance.

  • Act as the primary contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

  • Lead planning and execution of entity closure and rationalisation projects.

  • Manage tax and statutory obligations for entity closures, including final tax returns and de-registration.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth closure activities.

  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Contribute towards a timely and accurate statutory financial reporting for all managed entities

  • Maintain strong internal controls over tax and compliance processes.

  • Develop project plans and communicate progress and risks to senior management.

About You

  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with 7+ years’ experience in tax compliance and advisory, ideally in a multinational or complex corporate environment.

  • Proven experience leading entity closure or legal entity rationalisation projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian corporate tax law and compliance.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, risk assessment, and cross-functional delivery.

  • Experience liaising with auditors, legal counsel, and external tax advisors.
