(Please be aware that internally, this role will be named a Systems Engineer)
Reporting to the Cloud Team Leader, this senior role will see you providing both strategic and hands-on technical leadership across our enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments. You will not only ensure the stability, security, and resiliency of our systems but also play a key role in driving new initiatives, leading complex projects, and shaping the future of our technology platforms.
You will operate as a trusted advisor within an agile squad, leveraging your expertise to influence design decisions, optimise system performance, and implement improvements that align with business objectives. This position offers significant scope to expand your leadership capability while delivering meaningful impact across a large, complex organisation.
In this role, you will:
Strategic Infrastructure Leadership – Plan, design, and deliver upgrades and enhancements to core business systems and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
Risk & Resilience Management – Proactively identify risks to availability and implement strategies to strengthen system resiliency, including robust disaster recovery processes.
Cloud & Datacentre Oversight – Manage and optimise both on-premises datacentre infrastructure (compute, storage, networking) and hybrid cloud environments across Azure and Google Cloud.
Security & Compliance – Ensure all platforms adhere to best practice security, backup, and redundancy standards in line with organisational policies.
Project Delivery & Technical Ownership – Lead and contribute to high-impact projects, collaborating cross-functionally while taking ownership of technical challenges.
Continuous Improvement – Drive efficiencies and innovations across infrastructure and cloud operations, championing best practices and automation where appropriate.

Essential RequirementsMinimum 5 years’ experience in a senior Systems/Cloud Engineer or equivalent technical leadership role.
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Deep expertise in infrastructure technologies including compute, networking, and storage, with proven success supporting enterprise-scale datacentre and cloud environments.
Advanced technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence technical design and deliver complex solutions.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with a positive approach to leadership and knowledge sharing.
