Sustainability Strategy Lead
Job Description Summary
The Sustainability Strategy Lead will play a key role in the identification, development, and deployment of lead sustainability initiatives, coordinate environmental improvement programs, and manage client reporting on project outcomes, achievements, and new initiatives. The sustainability strategy lead will provide a key point of contact for stakeholders of a key national client on a day-to-day basis.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Under limited direction, deliver a range of Sustainability Strategy services. Represent Sustainability in dealings with clients:

Co-ordinate and deliver elements of Sustainability Improvement Programs including preparation of environmental reports and management of environmental initiatives.

Identify and implement environmental improvement initiatives.

Manage information and report to the customers as required in relation to:

Specific projects
-
Achievements against targets
-
New initiatives
-

Project manage the delivery of projects and ensure delivery against agreed milestones including:

Project budgets and project timetable; monitor and report on progress to ensure operations are within established parameters.

Prepare environmental reports in line with project requirements, as required by the client or Managers.

Liaise with appropriate bodies (Industry Associations, Government Co-ordinating Agencies, electricity and water supply organisations etc).
Background and Experience
-
5 years experience in environmental sustainability project management and initiative delivery.
-
Experience or understanding in net zero planning and delivery, circular economy and sustainable procurement as well as resource efficiency program delivery.

Graduate qualifications in environmental engineering, science, or related discipline qualifications desirable.

Excellent research, analytical, and technical report writing skills.

Knowledge of relevant environmental or energy legislation and regulations (e.g. NGERS, APS Net Zero) desirable.

Ability to work independently [self-starter] and exercise sound judgment.

Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.

Basic commercial understanding.
Qualifications

Australian Citizenship required

Currently hold or must be willing to obtain security clearance
