CT’s Consulting Team is a small but rapidly growing Consulting practice, within the broader organisation of over 400 IT professionals, with a focus on leveraging team experience and developing skillsets.
We work with new and existing CT customers to identify and solve complex operational problems including scoping and delivering technology enabled transformations, supporting mergers and integrations, ICT strategy and operating model development, project recovery and operational performance improvement.
Our work typically involves agreeing the problem to be solved, gaining a rigorous understanding of the current state, identifying the target future state and co-designing the change journey.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting in preparation of Consulting bids/tenders/presentations including customer research
- Working with CT Principal Consultants on new opportunities with customers and internal sellers
- Building meaningful relationships with CT staff at all levels
- Engaging with key stakeholders (executives, subject matter experts, operational resources and project teams) as part of a CT consulting team or independently as required
- Developing hypotheses and research plans, conducting customer interviews, analysing data and systems and preparing and consolidating identified issues into themes
- Supporting facilitation of workshops that involve eliciting people, process, technology and data requirements
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline operations
- Reviewing commercial and procurement arrangements and assisting customers with go to market and evaluation of responses
- Assisting Principal Consultants to shape and present customer strategies, roadmaps and recommendations
- Assisting with education of stakeholders and end users to facilitate change and providing support for the transition of new ways of working into on-going operations
- Monitoring, measuring and providing feedback on process performance
- Delivery management of consulting engagement and subsequent implementation governance and management of recommended work packages
What you'll bring:
- Degree in science, engineering or ICT, preferably advanced degree such as a Masters in Business Administration or IT
- 2-3 years experience working with one of the major consulting organisations on at least three customer engagements in the strategic services space,
- Desirable but not essential, client-side experience in a variety of industries in an operational role, IT leadership or business improvement capacity, BA and/or project delivery experience
- Eligible for AGSVA security clearance (Australian Citizen), ideally Baseline or NV1 cleared.
- Documentation, presentation and diagramming skills
- Structured thinker, able to synthesise and distil complex information, identify patterns and form judgements and recommendations
- Creative yet task focused, with high EQ - able to ask the right questions, read the room and adapt the conversation on the fly to incorporate new information while staying focused on target outcomes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to IT and non-IT stakeholders.
- Ability to learn fast and pick up new skills
- Enjoys working in a collegiate team environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment to prioritise accordingly.
- Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual rigour and curiosity, and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
