As a Staff Engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading, promoting continuous improvement, developing technical roadmaps specifically to IOS designs and services, and improve the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practises. You'll also work closely with other technical leaders and product owners to document new changes and drive various initiatives.
You will demonstrate experience with coding, designing, and building business driven solutions at scale and velocity. While having no direct reports, you will be guiding and mentoring the engineers across your crew to scaffold the development of elegant, well tested, and maintainable code and or software solutions.
You will come with a proven expertise in mobile engineering specifically to IOS, driving a major set of technical decisions in design and architecture and translate this into pragmatic engineering design decisions. You will partner with stakeholders designing our overall tech direction, advising and influencing on technologies and complex integration strategies, and AI enablement.

This role will join our Mobile team of the Acquisition Engagement & Retention Crew part or our wider Everyday Business Banking Domain. Everyday Business Banking support critical payment services—including cheques, bulk electronic payments, merchant acquiring (with terminal tech), and high-value international transactions. Our mobile team is one the largest mobile team in the country.

Possesses full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.

Are able to provide high level designs and provide technical leadership for squads.
Can utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technical implementation.
Champion and educate the wider chapter community members on engineering standards and practice and new tech.
Ability to understand and implement operational metrics.
Tech Skills:
Have proven experience developing accessible and secure native mobile solutions for IOS applications with Swift essential.
Experience with SwiftUI with a solid understanding of Human Interface Guidelines and Modularisation essential.
Strong knowledge of and experience with MVVM, Coordinator Pattern & async/await.
Experience in building feature design base mobile solutions.
Advanced experience in best standards and first-in-class software engineering and design principles in mobile.
Monitoring app health, crashes, and logs - AppD, AppCenter or AppDynamic, Splunk
Understanding of CI/CD pipeline - Teamcity, GitHub, GitHub Actions
Knowledge of public cloud along with various back-end APIs and systems
Any experience with the following would be great - AI/ML, Agentic AI, Banking domain.
Experience in Android app development is a huge plus.
