About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who excels at building impactful products and driving technical excellence within a Product Operating Model. You will lead within cross-functional, empowered teams, working as a key member of the product trio alongside Product and Design leaders. Your role extends significantly beyond coding: you will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers across teams, and influence product direction at an organisational level.

What You'll Do

• Lead multiple "core trios" and drive technical strategy across product areas, deeply understanding complex business problems and architecting scalable solutions.

• Define and/or maintain technical architecture and engineering standards across teams, providing strategic technical leadership.

• Drive ownership across multiple product areas and complex technical initiatives, from strategic planning to execution and optimisation.

• Establish and evolve engineering standards, practices, and culture - driving quality excellence across teams.

• Identify and lead major technical, AI-related, and process transformation initiatives.

• Mentor and develop engineers, fostering technical excellence and growth across the organisation.

• Drive technical decision-making in ambiguous, high-stakes situations and lead organisational change initiatives.

• Represent engineering in executive discussions and external technical community.

• Active contributions in the technical forums, cross team collaboration etc to help in building the engineering culture.

• Taking the accountability of end to end technical delivery of the products owned by the squad (DevSecOps model – you build you own & run)

• Active contribution in driving the tech initiatives, POCs which are aligned to the tech strategy & Tech OKRs.

• Lead solution design and technical delivery for the Lending/ Credit Risk value stream, acting as the engineering SME for scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms.

• Stay hands-on delivering full-stack features across .NET/.NET Core, C#, SQL, and API integrations within AWS/ cloud environment

• Deliver consistent engineering patterns, standards and best practices

• Own and optimise end-to-end customer journeys, designing solutions that remove pain points and create seamless digital experiences.

• Architect high-performance microservices and data-access layers with a focus on resilience, scalability and quality.

• Champion DevSecOps excellence CI/CD, automated testing, cloud pipelines, observability, secure coding and operational readiness (you build, you run).

• Partner closely with product, design and business teams, while mentoring engineers and uplifting modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development.

Tech skills

• Languages & Frameworks: Deep expertise in C#, .NET/.NET Core, MVC, Web API, with some exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks like NextJS

• Cloud & Architecture: Advanced AWS cloud-native engineering, microservices design, distributed systems, and scalable API architectures(REST).

• Databases: Proficient with PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, optimisation, and robust data-access patterns.

• DevOps & Automation: Strong CI/CD engineering using GitHub Actions and/or TeamCity, with a focus on automation, quality, and DevSecOps principles.

• Containers & Runtime: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration, deployment, and cloud-native operations.

• Monitoring & Observability: Solid understanding of Prometheus/Grafana, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch for proactive monitoring and operational excellence.

• AI-Enhanced Engineering: Exposure to GenAI tools such as Cline, Cursor, and AWS Bedrock, with awareness of AI/ML and LLM concepts to integrate intelligent capabilities.
