DevSecOps Team

As the champions of leading & building application security and operational best practices, we simplify the developer experience while tackling complex technical challenges with innovation and precision. Your role in the DevSecOps team will be to engineer and operate robust, high-performing and secure global environments for a large-scale entertainment product. You will define the best practices that underpin our global casino & sportsbook platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving the environments strategy for an entire global entertainment platform for non-prod and prod environments.
- Take ownership of the products' environments roadmap for new regulatory markets. This involves collaborating across business and engineering teams to ensure efficient execution and delivery.
- Perform critical analysis of engineering practices around environments and provide best practices based guidance to development teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including IT security, product managers, and engineering teams to effectively communicate environments related concerns and mitigate risks.
- Thought leadership for DevSecOps team and wider engineering capabilities to drive speciality areas aligning with environments strategy.
Lead and independently complete engineering initiatives from start to finish.
- Analyse complex problems and provide effective solutions, contributing to team goals and initiatives.
- Innovate within the team by pushing for improvements and driving constructive changes to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Govern and configure environments to protect from real-time attacks.
- Proactively build operational capability to detect and drive remediation of incidents before they happen.
- Continuously stay on top of an evolving environments’ landscape, promoting best practices and fostering a proactive mindset throughout the organization.
- Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable Terraform, Helm, Python code ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a primary focus on platform and environments engineering.
Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, architecture and design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset to address complex technical challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies to grow as a security engineer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Technology stacks like Cloudflare, Kubernetes, AWS and Datadog.
- Experience with IaC related technologies like Helm, Terraform, Terragrunt.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD, Github Actions, AWS Code Pipeline.
- AWS or equivalent certifications like Solutions Architect - Professional are highly desired.
- Championing Engineering Excellence to influence cultural change across the organisation.
- Work alongside the top 5% of engineering talent in Australia, using a vast cloud native tech stack including AWS, Microservices, Large-Scale Distributed Systems, NATS, K8's, ArgoCD, Terraform, Typescript, GraphQL, Nodejs.
- Exposure to building global, large-scale volume products which operate at thousands per second frequency (2 Billion requests daily).
