About the Role:
Do you like to ship meaningful products and generally get stuff done? As a Pipelines Engineer on CrowdStrike's SDX team, you will be a key member of the team that keeps our software factory humming. Want to shape the technical vision around our continuous integration pipeline? Build tools and automation that take us through the next 10x of growth? Enhance developer experience by decreasing friction and streamlining CI/CD pipelines? If so, this job is for you!
What You’ll Do:
Architect and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, integrating them with various build/test/deploy tools
Work with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android) operating at scale
Write and maintain Jenkins Plugins and shared libraries using Groovy
Leverage Docker containerization to optimize build environments and accelerate pipeline execution
Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated C/C++ build systems using CMake, manage complex dependency graphs with Conan, and demonstrate expert-level understanding of the C++ toolchain and compilation processes
Develop specialized tooling for efficient build queuing and PR management in a high-velocity monorepo environment
Architect and optimize end-to-end pipeline performance, including compile time optimization, caching strategies, test parallelization, resource orchestration, and performance monitoring dashboards, to achieve maximum efficiency at enterprise scale while supporting rapid organizational growth
Mentor junior engineers and expand capabilities within the team
Drive continuous improvement by identifying pipeline bottlenecks, implementing process optimizations, and advocating for technical solutions to key stakeholders
Research, evaluate, and implement emerging CI/CD technologies and best practices to maintain competitive engineering velocity and build quality
Create comprehensive technical documentation for pipeline architectures, workflows, and troubleshooting guides to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity
Champion engineering excellence through thoughtful, constructive code reviews that elevate code quality, enforce architectural standards, and mentor team members in a supportive environment, fostering a welcoming culture where continuous improvement thrives through collaboration
Collaborate effectively within an agile workflow environment
What You'll Need:
10+ years of experience working as a build engineer with 5+ years focused on Jenkins environments
Proven track record architecting and implementing complex enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines
Advanced expertise in developing and maintaining custom Jenkins plugins
Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages including shell scripting, Groovy, Python, C, C++, and Rust
Demonstrated mastery of Jenkins pipeline development using Groovy, including shared libraries
Strong experience with Docker containerization for optimizing CI/CD workflows
Expertise in C/C++ build systems, particularly CMake, and package management with Conan
Experience building tooling and optimizing build queuing systems for high-velocity monorepo environments
Proficiency working in agile development methodologies
Expert-level experience optimizing and scaling Jenkins infrastructure for large organizations
Advanced git workflow management experience with enterprise platforms (Bitbucket, Gitlab, Github)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must work effectively with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide
Must be able to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to make good, timely decisions
Self-learning capabilities and initiative in a fast-paced, changing environment
Security mindset with general understanding of cybersecurity principles
Availability for 2-3 business trips per year for team meetings
