Sr Cloud Operations Engineer

W e are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to lead and optimise our hybrid infrastructure and application ecosystem. This role requires deep technical expertise in VMware, AWS, Windows/Linux, and Java-based applications, along with strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach to operational excellence. The Senior Operations Engineer will mentor junior team members, drive automation initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
What you'll be doing...

• Maintain VMware virtual environments and AWS cloud resources.
• Oversee OS-level support for Windows and Linux servers, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Provide advanced operational support for Java-based applications (Tomcat / Spring Boot) across all environments.
• Optimize application performance and lead incident resolution for critical issues.
• Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions)
• Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and enforce best practices.

What you'll bring to us

• Drive automation using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to reduce manual effort.

• Good knowledge of VMware, AWS services (EC2/ECS/Lambda/RDS/CloudFront), Windows Server, and Linux distributions.
• Strong experience supporting Java applications in production environments.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
