Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop fit-for-purpose, technically sound solution architectures that optimise business value, comply with Boeing's architecture standards, and support digital transformation across corporate and operational systems.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document solution requirements, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and project objectives.
- Lead feasibility studies and business cases, supporting solution implementation, testing, and transition to operations, while also developing current and future-state technical architecture documents.
- Work closely with technical teams, including developers, to conduct proof-of-concept work, validate potential solutions, and establish new architecture patterns.
- Apply deep ERP knowledge (Finance, HR, Supply Chain) and expertise in Engineering and Quality Systems to guide solution design and integration with business processes and data models.
- Provide strategic guidance across diverse platforms and enterprise technologies, including cloud environments such as Azure/M365 and AWS, while supporting the development of long-term product and system roadmaps.
- Identify and review existing application profiles to define upgrade and/or replacement paths, confirming and developing architectural documentation as needed.
- Inform roadmaps for addressing application risks and support decision-making on solution architecture for current and emerging business requirements, with a focus on business risk remediation and lifecycle road-mapping.
- Mentor development teams on architecture best practices, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture standards within Boeing's Global IT community.
- Participate in architecture compliance reviews and manage waivers in accordance with governance mandates.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- 5-7 years' experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, preferably in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
- Proven track record in planning, designing, developing, and implementing complex IT solutions involving system integration, platform development, and custom software.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure/M365/AWS), ERP systems (e.g., Oracle eBusiness / SAP), and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Experience with Enterprise Cloud environments, governance frameworks and tooling
- Understanding of Cloud Economics and FinOps concepts
- Solid understanding of cyber and information security principles and their application in IT environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative, practical solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working effectively across business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with enterprise-grade application development methodology or equivalent software development and sustaining frameworks.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Relevant architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments is advantageous.
