Role ResponsibilitiesAlpha FMC is looking for a Solution Architect to join our growing team. We are seeking people with strong Front Office Technology skills, along with a personal desire to build a unique, world-class service offering for our clients. The Solution Architect presents a strategic perspective on investment technology choices and implementation decisions, leading teams of specialists to deliver technology change across the front office technology construct, providing SME guidance for front office technology solutions and associated operating models, and working with key client stakeholders to maximize value delivery on time and on budget.
- Define and lead the delivery of client’s front-office implementation process including current state analysis, requirements gathering, workflow design, system configuration & integration, test management & execution, and training/procedure documentation.
- Define and lead project planning to establish a detailed statement of work and tasks associated for a successful implementation.
- Manage the governance of implementation projects including regular status calls with project progression updates, monitoring individual project tasks and budget. Provide effective and proactive communication to Clients and the Alpha project team.
- Manage a team of developers and consultants.
- Ensure documentation and development are aligned with defined specifications and industry best practices.
- Define and promote best practice technical methodologies for implementation, such as SDLC, migration strategy, and quality assurance testing standards.
- Contribute to the development of internal accelerators and propositions within an OMS / front & middle office focused framework.
- Oversee business & technical workflow handover to client teams upon completion of engagement.
- 5+ years of experience with implementations, product management, or production support role with focus on front office technology such as Blackrock Aladdin, Charles River IMS, Bloomberg AIM, Simcorp, Finbourne, or Ridgeline
- Deep understanding of the Asset and/or Wealth Management value chain, spanning multiple client segments, investment products, and operating models.
- Must be comfortable leading executive-level workshops, steering committees, and program forums.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management, including experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, & AWS
- Specialist in at least two of the following Front and Middle Office focus areas: Risk & Analytics, Compliance & Regulation, Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Client Reporting, Transaction/Position/Cash Reconciliation, Data Management & Governance
- Strong understanding of investment products and asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Alternatives, with the ability to translate investment and business needs into operating and technology design requirements
- Expert SQL querying skills and ability to generate complex reports required, additional coding skills are desirable
- Expertise leading small to medium-sized teams in an implementation/consulting environment
- Experience with integration of cloud-based architecture (Snowflake, Azure, AWS) is desirable
- Proficiency in data modelling, data governance, and data quality management across investment data domains (i.e., transaction, position, security, and ABOR/IBOR)
- Openness to travel depending on client preference
Compensation and Perks:
The anticipated base salary for this role varies based on geographic location and is structured across three compensation zones. These zones reflect local market conditions and cost of labor. Geographic placement is determined by the employee’s primary work location.
Zone A | $163,000 – $186,200
Applies to candidates working in designated high-cost metropolitan areas, including: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; and Washington, DC, as well as remote roles based in Massachusetts or the New York Tri-State Area.
Zone B | $135,000 – $170,000
Applies to candidates working in key metropolitan markets, including: Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA, as well as remote roles based in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, or Colorado.
Zone C | $125,000 – $160,075

Toronto | CAD 170,000 - CAD 205,675

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. We are committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices across all locations.
