We're looking for a Software Engineer II with experience in development in high traffic, mission critical services. This role is with the Core Services Account team in Melbourne. You'll be part of a high-impact team responsible for developing and enhancing Zendesk’s Account Service — a core platform that enables customers to access all Zendesk products with a single account. Our work spans key areas such as managing the full account lifecycle, provisioning products, and handling usage allowances.

Being the core service that enables go to market activities and launching exciting and new Zendesk products.

What you bring to the role:
At least 2 years of commercial software engineering experience.
1+ years of experience in fullstack development.
Production experience in at least one of the following languages/framework:, Ruby on Rails, Scala
Good communication skills, both written and verbal - we work across teams in multiple timezones and hence prioritise asynchronous collaboration.
Meticulous, with a focus on the delivery of quality work with a mindfulness of timelines needed for the business.

Tech Stack:
Our code is written primarily in Scala and Ruby on Rails.
Our servers live in AWS.
Our applications/services are deployed via Spinnaker to Kubernetes.
Our data is stored in Aurora/MySQL, Amazon S3, and Snowflake data warehouse.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
