See yourself in the team

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our GenAI team. You'll work with Commonwealth Bank’s global engineering community to implement AI-assisted tools, enhancing the engineering experience and productivity within the business banking domain. 

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and test high-quality software solutions for business banking applications.

  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices in technology (e.g., style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

  • Contribute to and update existing documentation or educational content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

  • Diagnose, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analysing their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

  • Conduct self-driven research on emerging AI-assisted tools and capabilities.
     

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Hands-on experience in building, deploying, and maintaining robust software solutions. 

  • Familiarity with AI/ML and GenAI tools and frameworks, understanding their potential to streamline development processes.

  • Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript or C#)

  • Experience with one or more of the following or related GenAI technologies: ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, LiteLLM, Cursor, windsurf / Codeium, VO Vercel, Continue, Aider, Cline.

  • Preferably with building RAGs using LangChain, or similar frameworks.

  • Preferably have experience building Agentic AI systems using AutoGen, CrewAI, Pydantic, or similar frameworks

  • Daily usage and keen interest in AI tools like Cursor, GitHub CoPilot, Continue, Aider, and Cline.

  • Proficiency with API development and microservices architecture.

  • Strong collaborative development practices and experience with agile methodologies.

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience with containerization tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, including GitHub Actions and other infrastructure-as-code platforms.

  • Familiarity with Agile work management tools like Jira and Confluence
