Job DescriptionPlease note this is a 12 month Fixed Term contract.
This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
and systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the business and its customers.
1. Software Development:
- Design, code, and implement software applications and systems based on project requirements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
2. Requirement Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze software requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
3. Testing and Debugging:
- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests to ensure software quality.
- Identify and fix bugs and performance issues in the software.
4. Maintenance and Support:
- Provide Level 3 support for software applications, addressing issues and implementing enhancements as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of software systems.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other platform teams, including Cyber, Infrastructure, Operations, and Risk teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Collaborate with internal business stakeholders, such as the Alliance Partnerships team and Individual Life core colleagues, to understand and address their needs.
- Engage with the technology teams of partners when necessary to achieve project goals.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Embrace continuous innovation and strive to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
7. Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including design documents, technical specifications, and user manuals.
8. Security and Compliance:
- Ensure that software applications are secure and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (C#, React, JavaScript) and development frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services (Azure)
