Your mission? 🚀
As a Backend Engineer on the Open Platform team, your mission is to build the foundational services that will grow Yalo’s SaaS capabilities. You will be central to building and maintaining a self-service platform that enables any builder—internal or external—to create an account, connect necessary channels, and launch working solutions within minutes instead of weeks. Your focus will be on developing the robust public APIs, API gateways, security systems, and communication protocols that power the entire platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and ready for faster growth potential.
What are the responsibilities for this role?
- Own complex problems and lead the execution of their solutions.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain reliable and secure distributed systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure Yalo remains at the cutting edge.
- Share responsibility for maintaining the operational well-being of the company.
- Collaborate closely with our Staff Engineers to discover new problems and decipher them
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of general experience in the technology industry.
- Strong experience with Go, Java, Python or other OOP programming languages.
- Strong experience building and maintaining reliable distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge about Cloud Native technologies e.g Kubernetes and Docker.
- Strong knowledge about Computer Science fundamentals e.g Networking, Databases, Storage, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English.

Nice to have
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Go and k8.
- Experience with Event Driven Architecture or messaging systems.
- Experience with high throughput systems.
