What You’ll Do
-
Validate design, build, test and deploy software solutions into production
-
Support your team to develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, leveraging set processes to reduce the time between commission and production

Collaborate effectively with your team to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost and quality standards

Seek diverse viewpoints from colleagues in your team, and apply analytical thinking to resolve complex problems that don’t have an immediate or ‘tried-and-tested’ solution

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, apply ‘best practice’ corporate testing standards and our quality assurance approach to drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)

Apply a continuous learning and development mindset to your work, using tried and tested methodologies but also finding opportunities to experiment to incrementally improve or resolve challenges

Take ownership of your own actions and seek guidance from more experienced engineers to support your development and contribute to the delivery of team/mission outcomes
About You
Essential:
-
Experience in a related field with proficiency in agile practices and frameworks, enabling effective collaboration and project delivery.
-
Experience in Golang and React.js programming.
-
Experience in working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL).
-
Good to have knowledge of the telecom domain (OSS/BSS).
-
Strong analytical skills to interpret data for informed decision-making, coupled with expertise in gathering and analysing requirements and writing user stories and specifications.
-
Proven experience in supporting the team and Technical Product Owner to apply analytical thinking during iterative analysis, development and testing activities, to provide input and anticipate and resolve issues in the identification, reporting and closing of gaps in acceptance and feasibility.

Ability to support the team and technical product owners to break down work into epics, features, stories, and specifying acceptance criteria, when working in agile teams, to enable the effective planning and delivery of work, when working in agile teams.

Ability to apply sound technical skills in specific functional or technical domains to drive solution development and resolve problems within assigned technical capability teams.

Strong communication skills to contribute to gaining buy-in and input from stakeholders and teams for continuous improvement and enhanced ways of working.

Technical domain knowledge in software engineering, cloud platforms, hosting environments, and/or data engineering.
-
Proven influencing skills and experience in facilitating workshops for stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Ability to conduct technical impact and gap analysis, applying analytical thinking during iterative development and testing to support mission design and delivery.
Desirable Skills:

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and
-
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Involvement in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

Experience with API gateways such as APIGEE or Nginx.

Understanding of change management principles and experience in production support.
