Following the completion of a comprehensive Strategic Review in May 2024, it was announced that Perpetual Limited  will become a standalone Asset Management business and has entered   into an agreement with an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) who will acquire the Corporate Trust and Wealth Management businesses.

The role will be joining the Perpetual Digital Team, reporting to the Engineering Manager. Perpetual Digital, Perpetual Corporate Trust’s innovation company, was founded just six years ago, with a bold strategic vision to take forward the history of Perpetual’s 138-year-old, trusted brand into the next phase of evolution. This meant leveraging PCT’s unparalleled experience and expertise as a trustee, custodian and data services company and transforming that capability into a leading Digital SaaS platform business.

Perpetual Digital’s suite of next generation software as a service (SaaS) applications and data analytics platforms not only underpin PCT’s long-standing critical role in the industry, but also enables PCT’s banking and financial services clients to deliver their own digital transformations to automate key finance, treasury, funding, credit, risk and investment processes.

About the Role

As the Software Engineer, you will be joining the TDI engineering team responsible for the design and build of software products, platform services and infrastructure across a variety of cloud technologies supporting the banking and finance industry.  The role will play a key part in shaping the Perpetual Business Intelligence Platform.

Development Practice

  • Participate in multi-year vision and product roadmap

  • Follow coding best practices

  • Contribute to product initiatives to deliver robust and scalable solutions toward this vision, incorporating new technologies as appropriate

  • Contribute to a team culture that values delivering customer value quickly, and iteratively

Technical Delivery

  • Translating business requirements to efficient application code

  • Write efficient, clean and tested code ready for reuse by others

  • Participating in tool and technology selection processes and creating proof of concept models for new technologies and approaches

  • Build, support, and maintain the Perpetual Business Intelligence (BI platform using Azure cloud services

  • Release management

  • Contribute to current processes through system developments that improve process efficiency

  • Manage data and enhance current processes through system developments that improve process efficiency.

About you

  • 5+ years' experience as a software developer including demonstrated experience in a Full Stack engineering role

  • Experience in working in an agile product team

  • Experience working on ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core & C#

  • Experience working with Azure resources, App Service, API Management/Development, Service Bus, Azure SQL DB & T-SQL

  • Experience working on Blazor, Angular (or other relevant frontend framework), SCSS, HTML5 and/or CSS3

  • Experience with GIT / DevOps source control and CI tools

  • Strong communications skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders in the business ranging from Analysts to Management

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-motivation and commitment suitable to a start-up team

Highly regarded but not required

  • Experience with Azure services (ADF, DevOps, Databricks, etc.)

  • Experience writing T-SQL stored procedures and Common Table Expressions

  • Exposure to, and understanding of, financial mathematics

  • Basic knowledge of Financial Markets and concepts.
