Social Producer

We are looking for a Social Producer to join our talented and growing content capability in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have a dual passion for sport and social media, with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of platforms and emerging digital trends.  

We would love to hire a sports-obsessed social storyteller who can spot the moment, create the content and publish it — with the editorial judgement to know what a particular fan audience wants from a particular channel at that particular moment.

Your main duties & responsibilities: 

  • Execute real-time and planned social media output across a variety of sports and clients, both during and outside of live events  
  • Channel and community management 
  • Briefing video and design teams  
  • Content planning and creation  
  • Develop and deliver long and short-term social media campaigns and initiatives  
  • Produce short-form and longer social-first video edits  
  • Researching and reporting for internal and external requirements Otherwise we lose interest quickly! 
  • Content ideation and brainstorming 

Requirements

The ideal background and skills we are looking for include: 

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in channel management and social coverage of live events  
  • Experience working on digital content for sporting federations or media organisation is preferable  
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills  
  • First-class editorial judgement  
  • Experience of using Adobe Photoshop, video clipping tools and Premiere Pro  
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of multiple social media platforms  
  • Mobile device content-creation skills   
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple sports, in particular rugby union, soccer, NBA and NFL 
  • Detailed understanding of the digital and social media landscape, in particular how platforms are used to achieve business objectives  
     

Experience with the following would also be beneficial: 

  • Must be able to work weekends, as well as evenings, and be flexible about working patterns  
  • Ability to come up with original content ideas and spot developing trends and opportunities  
  • Understanding and awareness of social media analytics, especially in helping to guide content strategy  
  • Adobe After Effects skills  
  • Mobile content capture skills
