About Stake

Stake is an Australian investing platform with 750,000+ customers and A$8B under administration. We're building the platform we always wanted as investors ourselves — and social media is one of the biggest ways people meet the Stake brand for the first time.
The role
We are looking for a Social Content Producer to join our Marketing team in Sydney.

Stake sits at the intersection of investing, culture and ambition. Every day, markets create stories, conversations and opportunities. Our job is to help ambitious Australians and New Zealanders make sense of them through content that informs, engages and inspires.

We're after someone who's part video producer, part graphic designer, part social media manager — with video production the priority. You'll be the person turning ideas into polished, scroll-stopping content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and YouTube, shooting and editing yourself, then backing it up with graphic design to a professional standard when a post calls for it rather than a video.

This isn't a role where you're handed a content calendar and asked to execute it. We want someone with the attitude and vision to own their own corner of Stake's social presence — pitch your own projects, build your own creative direction, and help shape where Stake's social strategy goes next.

You live online, not because it's the job but because you can't help it. You know a trend the day it drops, and you know when it's already dying. You can turn a headline, an earnings result or a random Tuesday in the market into something people actually want to send to their group chat. Investing isn't a category where the stakes are life or death, so the real risk is being boring — we'd rather you rock the boat than play it safe.
Please ensure you’ve attached links to your portfolio and/or website as part of your application.
What you'll do

  • Shoot, edit and publish video content across our social channels, with video production as your main focus
  • Design supporting graphics and images to a high, on-brand standard when the format calls for it
  • Bring your own ideas to the table — pitch and lead your own content projects rather than just executing a brief
  • Help develop and evolve Stake's social media strategy: what we post, where, and why
  • Keep a consistent, high-quality posting rhythm across every channel we're active on
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product and Compliance to keep content sharp and compliant in a regulated industry

What success looks like in your first 3 months

  • You've launched your own first project — something that's clearly your vision, start to finish
  • You've settled into a steady rhythm producing content across all our social channels
  • By the end of month three, you've formed your own view on where Stake's social strategy should go next — and you're ready to present it, with clear next steps

What you'll bring

  • Video production skills — you can shoot and edit for social-first formats without waiting on a videographer
  • Graphic design skills (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or similar), to a standard that's ready to publish
  • A genuine point of view on what makes social content work, and the initiative to act on it
  • Comfort owning a project end-to-end, from idea to publish
  • Curiosity about markets, investing and culture more broadly
  • Editorial judgement — you can turn a complex idea or a market move into something simple, human and shareable
  • Zero patience for jargon, buzzwords or anything that reads like it came out of a content factory

What's in it for you?

  • Real ownership — this is your chance to shape a project and a channel as your own, not just execute someone else's brief
  • Room to grow — sharpen your skills across video, design and strategy, with the scope to go as far as you want to take it
  • Get in early on AI content creation — explore how AI tools fit into the content workflow, with support from AI Specialists across the business
  • A shot at being a face (or voice) of Stake — potential to appear on camera or do voice-over work as our social presence grows

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
