An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support MMS in implementing its procurement strategy including implementation of a new procurement policy, technology, processes and leading supplier management. The aim is to assist the business owners drive value and reduce risk from our supply markets.

This is a unique role working in a small Procurement function, working directly with an experience Head of Procurement and getting involved in all areas of the procurement and supplier lifecycle.

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for guiding and supporting business owners in selecting and managing key suppliers and contracts within MMS, ensuring correct process is followed in order to provide value to the business. The role will work closely with the Head of Procurement on governance, analysis, reporting and compliance activities to reduce risk from supply markets as well as identifying opportunities for improvement.

One major project for this role will be the implementation and maintenance of a new contract register and third party management tool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or assist in supplier selection processes (including the preparation, issuing and negotiation of tenders) ensuring suppliers are selected in accordance with the Procurement Policy and providing value to MMS
  • Be responsible for the management of certain suppliers and assist the business with same for all other tier 1 suppliers
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting relating to specific suppliers or procurement processes
  • Assist in the implementation of the procurement strategy
  • Assist with all sustainability and modern slavery related activities ensuring that both the Procurement Policy and other activities from the modern slavery working group are met

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
  • Experience in developing and executing procurement processes
  • Proven experience in preparation and ongoing management of regular reporting
  • Contract and supplier administration experience with an understanding of commercial and contracting terms and conditions.
  • Proven expertise in supplier selection and management
  • Strong attention to detail and professional integrity
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
