This position is based in Sydney, with flexible options for remote or office-based work.
We're looking for a confident and engaging communicator, who is motivated by new challenges and learning new skills to help drive Afterpay's continued growth by building relationships with prospective SMB merchants through both inbound and outbound business development.
Lastly, and most importantly, we want you to be passionate about Afterpay and what we stand for, for both our merchants and customers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Inbound lead management to generate new opportunities
  • Outbound sourcing to identify new SMB opportunities
  • Sell the Afterpay product to business owners
  • Follow sales and onboarding processes accurately to maximise yearly sales volumes
  • Identify relevant new business opportunities, while highlighting Afterpay's value proposition
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Afterpay, retail industry trends, and our competition

  • You will be comfortable with high-volume calling and business development
  • You have experience using tools such as Salesforce or Aircall
  • Your head will be abuzz with things we should be doing - managing your sales pipeline, interpreting data to support merchant conversations, and meeting sales metrics and targets
  • You may have previous retail or payments industry experience but this is not necessary
  • You like to keep it real with your actions, be brave with your decisions, do the right thing for all our stakeholders, and shape the future with excitement

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
