The UX Research team sits with the Design team which partners with Product and Engineering teams across the business. Our world-class Design team is driven by innovation and creativity, constantly pushing the boundaries to create products that our consumers and customers love. We strive to provide Australians with the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed property decisions. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for understanding user needs and uncovering insights that drive the creation of exceptional products, that resonate and delight our consumers and customers, and foster business growth. You’ll be responsible for delivering value to our residential advertising product portfolio for FY26 and beyond. Drawing on your deep expertise in research methodologies, user-centered design, and service thinking, you'll apply these insights to align with our strategic vision for our products, features, and experiences. 

 

What the role is all about 

  • Lead research initiatives (plan, formulate and undertake) to discover problems, define solutions and validate concepts and prototypes with our customers 

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of different research methods, their strengths, and limitations, and know when and how to apply them at each stage of the product lifecycle 

  • Utilise quantitative data analysis and statistical techniques as part of a mixed methods approach 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align research efforts with broader business objectives 

  • Design and facilitate workshops, user research sessions, stakeholder interviews, and research critique sessions 

  • Translate research insights into strategic recommendations to inform product strategy and decision-making 

  • Exhibit highly developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills 

  • Communicate research insights effectively to diverse audiences including senior stakeholders across the organisation 

  • Mentor designers and PWDR (people who do research), providing guidance on research best practices and inspiring and motivating others 

  • Help steer our UX Research practice by maintaining and iterating research templates and frameworks, research libraries, and recruitment processes 

 

Who we’re looking for 

  • Someone with runs on the board, experience practising design research, predominately qualitative approaches for problem validation, foundational research, and strategic research projects 

  • An impressive background leading design research methodology, including facilitating workshops with stakeholders and/or customers and using various ideation techniques 

  • Well-developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships across different levels in the organisation, as well as with our B2B customers 

  • Strong communication skills to drive impact and effective influencing 

  • A growth mindset, a positive attitude and ability to take on and give clear and constructive feedback 

  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
