The Senior UX Designer will drive UX and UI activities within one of our flagship digital products, working with the Lead UX Designer, you’ll be embedded in a delivery squad creating and delivering exceptional user experiences. You’ll address customer pain points and solve real user challenges through your designs while working closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, and our Delivery teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
Accountabilities:

Deliver tested, validated and robust UX and UI solutions that can be built by the Product Delivery function.

Facilitate concept testing capturing user insights that shape feature deliveries using the DVFU (Desirability, Viability, Feasibility and Usability) framework.

Validate user needs and establish user metrics for improved experiences within the product.
-
Collaborate with leads to prioritise and conduct high-value UX activities in alignment with Product Design peers that get to Product Delivery faster.

Understand when to conduct discovery and shaping activities during feature delivery.
-
Advance UX practices and identify opportunities to enhance impact across Cochlear.

Lead and facilitate workshops, analysis, and create UI/UX artefacts that empower and drive product delivery velocity.

Advocate for improvement in Experience Design and HCD activities that drive efficient delivery.
Essential Skills :
-
At least 6 years proven experience as a Product Designer or User Experience Designer for software products.
-
Experience working in highly collaborative agile software teams and within complex problem area.
-
An advocate for Inclusive Design, User Centred and Human Centred Design methodologies.
-
Deep knowledge of design patterns and best practices in user experience design
-
Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex research outcomes with clarity.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities and strong abilities to work collaboratively.
Ideal:
-
Experience in Lean UX, Dual Track Discovery or Continuous Discovery.

Experience implementing brand and accessibility into digital products and inclusive design needs
-
Experience working with web and mobile application teams
-
Experience with Service Design methods and Customer Journey maps.

An understanding of Design Systems and their role in the product design process
