About Picklebet

Picklebet is a cutting-edge sports, racing, and esports betting platform redefining the wagering experience for a modern audience. Currently a top 10 operator in Australia, we are expanding offshore with the launch of our brand-new Online Casino vertical, built upon our proprietary technology platform. We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to lead our design function and craft the next generation of our betting platform

The Role

As the UI/UX Designer, you will be the champion of the user, responsible for the end-to-end design strategy across our four cross-functional squads. You will create intuitive, high-performance, user centric interfaces that bridge the gap between complex wagering and media features and a seamless user experience. Your mission is to ensure Picklebet remains the most fun, focused, forward, and user-friendly platform in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the overarching design language and UX strategy for the Picklebet platform across web and mobile apps.
  • Create, maintain, and scale a comprehensive Design System and brand Style Guide to ensure visual consistency and execution efficiency across all development squads and platforms.
  • Implement structured user testing and research methodologies to validate designs and drive data-informed product decisions.
  • Partner closely with the Head of Product, CEO, CTO, and Engineering leads to ensure design feasibility and alignment with the broader product roadmap, and delivery of successful design implementation.
  • Focus on optimizing high-impact user journeys, such as onboarding, depositing, and bet selection and placement, to drive growth and retention.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years in UI/UX or Product Design, with experience leading design teams in a high-growth B2C digital environment a bonus.
  • A world-class portfolio demonstrating expertise in complex web and mobile B2C application design across web browser and apps.
  • Expert-level skills in Figma (or similar) and experience managing comprehensive Design Systems.
  • Proven experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating directly with engineering squads.
  • Ability to balance aesthetic excellence with commercial goals and technical constraints.
  • Experience in wagering, gaming, or high-transaction fintech platforms is highly advantageous.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to define the visual identity of a top-tier digital wagering brand / platform.
  • Drive the design of a proprietary platform in a fast-scaling company.
  • We trust our team. Combination of WFH and office arrangements to suit your lifestyle and productivity.
  • We value connection. Join the team for regular off-site social events and team-building days.
  • A competitive compensation package, inclusive of ESOP, based on experience.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
