We’re looking for our next addition to join our Wollongong team as a Senior Technical Writer where you’ll be required to interpret user requirements and produce high quality, well- presented technical documentation, such as installation guides, admin guides, developer guides, end-user online help. A creative flow and the ability to take ownership will be key to your success. Implementing brand new content and owning the delivery, this newly created role will give you the next step you are looking for!

A day in your role:

  • Produce new and update existing documentation with every product release. 
  • Gain an understanding of new features by working closely with product owners, developers and testers. 
  • Work on multiple documentation milestones simultaneously.  
  • Refactor existing documentation to make it accurate and easy-to-use. 
  • Create education and guidance materials to support end user onboarding and product certification programs. 
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of documentation tools and processes. 

Your skills, experience and beyond:

  • 5 + years of technical writing experience in software development or information technology environment. 
  • Tool Proficiency – Skill in understanding technical systems, products or processes and accurately translating them into accessible content. 
  • Familiarity with documentation authoring tools such as Microsoft Word, MadCap Flare or similar as well as markup languages like Markdown and/or HTML/CSS. 
  • Extensive experience in writing for non-technical, technical and developer audiences and effectiveness in working with subject matter experts, developers, product managers and other teams to gather and verify information. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively, take ownership and a strong sense of creativity. 
  • Experience in using the latest technological advances in documentation delivery.
