This position has a high degree of collaboration with claims teams to ensure the highest levels of technical competence and service is achieved and maintained.
The position also involves leading and supervising the day-to-day work activity, training and development of a high performing and customer-responsive team of Technical Specialists.

This will be a full-time, permanent position based in our Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure team members achieve performance and KPI targets as set out under the BU performance framework.
  • Coordinate any Identify and evaluate individual and organisational development needs. Deliver individual and group learning and development programs.
  • Utilise appropriate feedback to identify, oversee and foster an efficient, collaborative and effective customer-centric operating model.
  • Adopt a service-orientated approach that is focused on early intervention and the interests of workers and employers Drive continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes.
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders, internal clients and the management team by displaying our values and behaviours.
  • Ensure the effective management of key legislative drivers in accordance with the Act including ownership and dissemination of weekly circulars and directions sent by WorkSafe.
     

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong technical experience within the Victorian worker’s compensation scheme
  • Previous experience as a technical specialist in worker’s compensation claims
  • Proven track record in developing technical capability within all or most claims management segments
  • Experience in managing relationships and competing stakeholder priorities
  • Superior time management and negotiating skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • People management skills, including team building, coaching and change management
