The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a Sustainment Team, supporting cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors, visual surveillance systems, and associated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for the Australian Army.
This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to work on critical defence capabilities within a multidisciplinary team.
This is a full-time permanent position, based in Melbourne. Interstate applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This position will require an active AGSVA NV1 clearance on commencement and the successful candidate must be willing to upgrade to an NV2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering investigations and safety analyses.
- Develop, review, and revise technical documentation such as Operator Manuals, Maintenance Procedures, and Test Instructions.
- Verify and validate technical data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to define and refine design requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management.
- Participate in Engineering Design Reviews.
- Contribute to or develop Safety Case Reports.
- Lead small, multidisciplinary teams to deliver specific work packages.
- Operate within the SPO’s Engineering Management System.
- Prepare high-quality engineering reports and design contract documents.
- Adhere to Certification Standards and established industry practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, including graduates, as required.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Degree qualified engineering professional.
- Experience with EW and/or Surveillance technologies.
- Chartered Professional Engineer, desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Systems Engineering Management Plans
- Hands-on experience in configuration management practice
- Experience in risk management
- Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution.
