What kind of work may be involved?
- Business development / customer relationship management. Contacting and maintaining relationships with relevant customers with the objective of picking up project and upgrade work.
- Concept design/ quoting. Developing a concept design when an opportunity presents, followed by quoting it. Our long term experience indicates this is a critical stage of any project. It has to be carried out with a minimal amount of detailed engineering, however technical and commercial risk need to be well understood to ensure we can subsequently deliver. Doing this well is a key part of CMA’s long term success.
- Project management. Once a job has been won all aspects including design, procurement, manufacture, testing, install and commissioning needs to be managed.
- Detailed design work. Use the design resources in Motion E&S for aspects of the work as well as doing some yourself.
- Site work. Assist with commissioning and system support as needed. May also involve supervising/ engaging sub contractors.
- Commercial responsibility. Assist the Design & Project team meet financial budgets. Assist with invoicing and cost management for local work.
While this role focused on project work, there will be an expectation of potentially being involved with more conventional small mechanical engineering project work on an as-needed basis. Motion E&S does provide a valuable support service to our large bearing and mechanical drive businesses.
