Where the team fits in

This role will be in the Ignite Web Core squad within Customer Platforms Tribe, previously known as the Ignite Tribe. Our tribe consists of six teams that are the owners and custodians of the Ignite Platform (Web, Native & API) and the Realtair Platform, which are two of our primary platforms that serve our REA customers.

For additional context on the Ignite Platform: it is the tool of choice for all customers who use REA to support their business. Ignite is available to our customers across both web and apps, supported by a backend that integrates with many core systems across our business. Additionally, there is an API partner integration aspect to the Ignite Platform.

The Ignite Web Core teams primary mission is to make it easier for our customers to adopt Ignite and discover value throughout the web platform, while also delivering core capabilities that help us increase our monthly active user base.

What the role is all about

  • Working closely with 4 other engineers, BA, QA, Engineering Manager, Product Designer and Product Manager to deliver great outcomes for Ignite, its customers and the wider REA.
  • Designing, implementing, testing and deploying new software products using a variety of technologies and platforms. You’ll be working across the full stack, it tends to be a nice blend across frontend, backend.
  • Supporting our federating teams by providing guidance, technical expertise and options to solve technical problems, whilst ensuring our federating teams maintain our high quality standards.
  • Working in a wider agile team with other engineers, business analysts, quality analysts, product managers & product designers where we value iterative experimentation and data driven decisions.
  • Learning and contributing to the tech community. We are constantly learning together, mentoring each other and striving to do things better.
  • Working with product to understand business priorities and communicate technical options, report on progress and express ideas.

Who we’re looking for

  • Someone who is wanting to be part of a high performing, highly collaborative team who likes to work with others to deliver great outcomes and have some fun along the way.
  • Someone with adept knowledge of the web technologies, software development environments and proficient with cloud computing services (AWS).
  • Someone with experience developing products that scale and are highly performant.
  • Highly proficient in Typescript, React, GraphQL and NodeJS development.
  • Someone who has the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, product designers, business analysts, quality analyst etc.
  • Solid communication skills and experience collaborating effectively with other team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar highly desirable.
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens.
  • Someone who likes to work in a fast paced and agile environment.
