Senior Software Engineer- Java & AWS

You will be part of the Reporting & Insights Crew within the Financial Crime Technology team. More specifically you will be in the centralised reporting data squad that manages the data for all the MIS reporting across financial crime technology.
Your role
The Senior Software Engineer will be contributing towards building best in class centralised reporting platform. You will be involved in requirement gathering, design, development, test, CICD, and implementation.
More specifically, you will:
- Design and Develop Enterprise applications with high volume of data (More than 10s of billions).
- Manage the end-to-end delivery cycle including requirement gathering, documentation, design, build, test, and release.
- Build and run a new greenfield application in Java (Spring boot) with different types of databases including relational, document, key value and graph.
- Documentation of the design through UML diagrams using confluence.
- Effectively manage relationships and communications with project stakeholders, including business and delivery teams.
- Take part in design and build of the cloud infrastructure in AWS through infrastructure as a code.
- Contribute to CICD changes and help the engineering chapter towards higher DevSecOps maturity.
- Act as a role model by consistently displaying leadership behaviour that encourages productive working relationships and a strong performance culture.
- Review and contribute to all reference architecture and Platform initiatives in CBA.
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry developments, directions, and best practices.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Enforce and drive best practices in engineering space
- Contribute to test automation including unit testing and integration testing
- Contribute to triage of production and test environment issues.
Skills Required:
This is a highly technical role, requiring a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. You’ll be a good match if you have:
- Extensive software development experience in Java or any other object-oriented language.
- Strong understanding of data structures and efficient management of memory.
- Experience in working with application that handles huge volumes of data.
- Worked as a full cycle engineer who can gather requirement, design, develop, test, release and do production support.
- Experience in codifying infrastructure.
- Good understanding of relational databases, SQL queries and tuning of the same. Involved in data model design of an enterprise application will be an advantage.
- Good to have exposure to different types of databases like key value pair, document and graph. Exposure to data warehouses like AWS redshift will be an advantage.
- Worked in an agile environment.
- Experience in development and collaboration tools like GIT, Jira, Confluence.
