The Pricing and Performance is a large team and is responsible for solving some of the most exciting and challenging problems for SEEK like setting, managing, and experimenting with the pricing of SEEK’s products, as well as monitoring and optimizing their performance.
About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain high-quality software that powers meaningful experiences for our users. You’ll play a key role in shaping technical direction, solving complex problems, and mentoring others while delivering reliable, scalable, and secure solutions. You will join a team of 40 data scientist, engineers, and product managers working across three problem spaces.
Responsibilities
- Design and define software components that are robust, fault‑tolerant, and built for scalability and performance
- Take ownership of production services — ensuring reliability, uptime, and strong non‑functional performance
- Develop, test, and deliver systems that are high‑quality, secure, and fit for purpose
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Analysts to create impactful solutions in an agile environment
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced team where curiosity and continuous learning drive innovation
- Champion continuous delivery — removing blockers, improving processes, and enabling your teammates to deliver their best work
- Strive for technical excellence by balancing fast delivery with long‑term maintainability and platform health
Skills and experience
You don’t need to match our tech stack perfectly, we value your engineering mindset, flexibility, and drive to learn:
- With 10+ years of strong backend expertise and a passion for data and machine learning engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with solid software engineering fundamentals
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and working confidently with SQL
- Experience with Spark or Databricks for large-scale data processing
- Hands-on experience in AWS or other cloud environments
- Strong CI/CD and DevOps practices for robust, automated deployments
- Designing and operating machine learning pipelines in production
- Applying secure, testable, and maintainable coding practices while mentoring others on best standards
