  • Utilize DBT for data modeling, transformation, and testing, ensuring data quality and efficient data flow.

  • Work on software that runs on AWS services like Kubernetes, integrating with AWS services such as S3, Athena, and Glue for data access. Work with tools such as Snowflake, Docker/Kubernetes, Airflow, Astronomer.

  • Build a platform that will serve as the foundation for our customer-facing reporting features, machine learning initiatives, and internal product analytics.

What we’d love you to have:

  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or GoLang.

  • 7+ years of software development/data engineering experience with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience building scalable systems.

  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and transformation.

  • Good understanding of DBT concepts, including models, sources, tests, and documentation.

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable and efficient data models for various business needs.

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience with Snowflake.

  • A desire to build clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

  • Strong developer skills, demonstrating a passion for designing scalable and fault-tolerant software systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and lead discussions.

  • Someone who is self-motivated, has strong collaboration skills and enjoys working with others to get the desired outcome

  • Someone who is willing to learn, ask for help, pair, and acquire new skills.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
