About the role

At Hargreaves Lansdown, Salesforce is at the heart of our digital transformation and operational excellence. As Senior Salesforce Developer – Technical & Release Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving technical leadership and release management within our growing Salesforce estate. Reporting to the Design & Build Engineering Manager, you’ll collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, QA and Support teams to ensure high-quality, reliable delivery of Salesforce change.

What you will be doing
  • Lead the technical design and delivery of complex Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, security and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Act as design authority for changes, conducting code/design reviews and championing Salesforce best practices (Apex, LWC, Flows, integrations).
  • Oversee release management: define and improve deployment standards using and tools like Gearset Project Pipelines; set release gates and reduce deployment risk.
  • Drive improvements in delivery processes across Design, Build, Test and Release; identify gaps and implement pragmatic solutions to increase reliability and speed.
  • Collaborate with internal/external teams, providing technical guidance and mentorship; translate complex topics for non-technical stakeholders.
About you
  • Extensive hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, Flows, APIs).
  • Strong background in enterprise-scale solution design and release management (including  Gearset Project Pipelines).
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture, integrations and deployment strategies.
  • Process-driven, organised, pragmatic and calm under pressure, especially around releases.
  • Excellent communicator, able to influence and lead across teams without direct management responsibility.
  • Preferred: Salesforce Lightning, App Builder, Data Cloud, Agile delivery, previous technical/delivery lead experience.

Desirable certifications

  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I & II, Administrator) highly desirable.
Interview Process

2-stage interview, including one on-site in the Bristol office.

Working Schedule

We are based in Bristol, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home.
