The Senior Risk & Control Analyst is responsible for supporting the effective management of operational, compliance and conduct risks within the business. The role provides risk and control expertise across marketing, operations and technology ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated in alignment with the organisation’s Risk Management Framework and regulatory obligations.
The role provides challenge and oversight to ensure that the first line of defence is effectively managing risk and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
The Senior Risk & Control Analyst acts as a trusted advisor to the business, partnering with leaders to embed a proactive risk culture, enhance control effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement in customer and risk and compliance outcomes.
Let’s look at some key responsibilities:
Risk & Control Management
- Support the implementation of Latitude’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (RMF) and business unit specific risk and control governance frameworks to embed enterprise policies effectively.
- Facilitate and review continuous Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) to ensure risks and controls are accurately captured and aligned with risk appetite.
- Execute regular control testing to validate design and operating effectiveness and support remediation of gaps.
- Identify emerging risks across the business value chain in areas such as customer servicing and support, marketing and communication execution and technology to support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Support the establishment and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and operational risk events, escalating issues and trends to the Manager and business leadership.
Incident & Issue Management
- Investigate operational incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and drive incidents and remedial actions to timely closure.
- Support issue management and closure, ensuring actions are clearly defined, appropriately owned, and delivered on time.
Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to assess the impact of regulatory or policy changes and assist with business implementation.
- Support the completion of compliance attestations and monitoring activities.
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver regular risk and compliance reporting to the leadership team
- Provide clear insights into trends, control effectiveness, and incident themes to inform business decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk registers, incident & issue logs, and control & obligation libraries.
Continuous Improvement & Advisory
- Support process improvement initiatives that reduce risk, simplify processes & controls, and enhance customer experience.
- Act as a risk advisor on operational process and control enhancements.
- Promote awareness of operational risk and compliance obligations through education and engagement activities across the business.
We're looking for the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in operational risk, compliance, or audit within financial services, preferably consumer operations marketing and technology
- Familiarity with ASIC, APRA, and other regulatory requirements relevant to consumer finance / financial services across Australia and New Zealand.
- Strong understanding and experience in the application of risk management principles, frameworks, and processes including control testing.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information, provide quality insights and make sound recommendations
- Proficiency in risk management systems (e.g. GRC / Protecht)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proactive, curious, and detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
- Ability to influence and drive accountability within the business.
- Demonstrated integrity, judgement, and accountability.
