As we enter our next phase of growth across APJ, we’re seeking a highly consultative Senior Recruiter who thrives in complexity and excels at building high-impact teams. This is a business-critical role at the heart of our international expansion—supporting new market entries, shaping hiring strategy, and partnering directly with senior leaders to enable scale across diverse APJ markets.
This is not a traditional recruiting role. You will operate as a strategic advisor, builder, and regional talent expert—designing adaptable, data-informed hiring strategies that support both engineering and commercial growth across APJ.
What you'll do:
- Own the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for priority APJ roles, including senior, niche, and hard-to-hire positions.
- Design and execute regional sourcing strategies to attract exceptional engineering and go-to-market talent.
- Tailor hiring approaches to local market realities while upholding Shield AI’s global hiring bar.
- Act as an APJ ambassador for Shield AI’s employer brand, ensuring we are positioned as a top employer across the region.
- Use Data to forecast hiring needs, monitor pipelines and optimise recruitment performance at scale.
- Partner for impact: Work with broader international team including the APJ and EMEA Talent Acquisition team, our global sourcing team and talent coordination team. You will also be supported by our Px Function.
Required experience:
- Demonstrated experience driving full-cycle hiring for engineers and go-to-market teams in a high growth tech environment (aerospace, defence, robotics or deep tech preferred)
- Proven success supporting new market entries and scaling teams across multiple APJ countries.
- Deep understanding of APJ talent landscapes, including sourcing strategies, cultural considerations and competitive nuances.
- Consultative, commercially minded, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving business needs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence leaders across regions.
- Highly organized, data-driven, and able to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. All offers are contingent on a cleared background and possible reference check.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
