Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for a 12‑month contract to lead medium–large technology projects from initiation through to delivery. You’ll manage multiple workstreams, oversee end‑to‑end delivery, and ensure projects align with the Customer & Technology strategy. This role suits someone confident working in complex environments with strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects end‑to‑end, from initiation through to service introduction.
- Build project plans covering timelines, milestones, and resource needs.
- Manage scope, risks, issues, and budgets within governance frameworks.
- Coordinate delivery across design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Lead and support project teams while managing vendors and stakeholders.
- Ensure smooth operational transition and alignment with enterprise standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- 10+ years’ experience managing complex technology projects.
- Strong background in operational technology, cloud, data, cyber, infrastructure, or networks.
- Experience delivering projects with multiple vendors and concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong influencing, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability.
- Proficiency with project tools (MS Project, Visio) and methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile preferred).
If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience – whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.
We strongly encourage applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people living with disability.
