Context:
Xero is on a mission to reinvent financial and business intelligence through AI, to help millions of businesses globally. AI is a top priority at Xero, and we’ve been investing heavily in this area. We’re currently building JAX (in beta), Xero’s genAI-powered agent to handle financial and business advisory tasks. And we’re investing in AI/ML throughout our products, including efforts such as document extraction, predictive analytics, and personalisation / recommendations.
Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the AI team to support JAX Foundations. No prior AI experience is required, but you must have a strong interest in building AI products. This is a great role for someone interested in moving into AI product management. You’ll apply your existing product skills to enhance core experiences for JAX, and learn AI on the job as you work closely with our AI eng and product teams.
This person will be responsible for the “Foundations” of JAX, meaning the horizontal elements that cut across multiple JAX features. Example projects include user identity and permissions, horizontal design components, chat history, preferences/privacy, user feedback, Beta opt-in/disclosures, error messages, disclosures, personality, memory, visualizations, etc. This is an important role to ensure that JAX is a high quality product that’s understandable and easy to use, and to evolve the overall JAX experience.
We’re looking for someone with customer obsession, strong product and design sense, strong cross functional collaboration skills, and a hustle “move fast” mindset. Come join us as we push the boundaries of technology and reinvent financial intelligence!
Location: Melbourne strongly preferred (or willingness to relocate there), to be colocated with the rest of the team
Key responsibilities:
- Define the product experience and requirements for JAX foundations
- Work closely with AI engineering, product engineering, design, PMs, and various stakeholder teams to assess tradeoffs and align on the right experiences
- Build, ship, and iterate on experiences
- Articulate a longer term vision for JAX foundations and champion / get buy-in to build towards the future
- Run experiments and assess user data/insights to drive decision making
- Communicate to stakeholders and leads proactively and clearly, to ensure alignment and flag risks or decisions needed early
