Join us in our mission to create solutions that help keep children safe online.

Who are we?

Headquartered in Perth, Australia, with offices around the world, Qoria is an ASX-listed global leader in child digital safety technology and services. We are a purpose-driven business operating under the Linewize brand in North America and Asia Pacific, the Smoothwall brand in the UK, the Qustodio brand in EMEA, and Qoria LK in Sri Lanka.

Our solutions are used by schools, school districts, and parental communities to protect children from harmful online content, identify students at risk based on their digital behaviours, and help teachers maintain focus and safe learning environments in the digital classroom. Today, 30,000 schools and 7 million parents rely on our solutions to help keep 25 million children safe across 180 countries worldwide.

What's the Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who will design, deliver and improve the user experiences that help schools and families keep children safe online. As a Senior Product Designer at Qoria, you will own work end to end from research to shipped UI on products used by tens of thousands of schools worldwide. You will pair strong UX thinking with hands on UI craft, help evolve our design system, improve design practice and support the growth of other designers.

Here's how you'll do it:

  • Design and deliver solutions that create clear value for schools, safeguarding teams and the wider business.
  • Own and improve the quality, clarity and consistency of interfaces and user experiences across our products.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement across the design team and product organisation.
  • Shape and strengthen the direction of our design system through new components, patterns and standards.
  • Take end to end ownership of initiatives in collaboration with Product and Engineering, from early thinking to shipped release.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and openness to using AI tools to accelerate research, ideation, design exploration and workflow efficiency.

You will be accountable for:

  • Applying a hypothesis-driven design approach, defining assumptions, expected outcomes and how success will be measured before committing to solutions.
  • Creating clear user story flows that communicate user needs, business goals and technical considerations for new and existing features.
  • Designing, maintaining and evolving our design system, including creating new components, improving existing patterns and ensuring consistency across products.
  • Using a wide range of design artefacts including whiteboard sketches, screen flows, diagrams, wireframes and prototypes to explore ideas, test assumptions early and give Product and Engineering clear, feasible direction for delivery.
  • Continuously raising the quality bar by assessing existing experiences, advocating for better solutions and providing well considered recommendations that improve UX across the product.
  • Supporting the timely delivery of software into production by being responsive, pragmatic and solution-focused.
  • Driving high design standards by modelling quality work, giving constructive feedback and ensuring our outputs are consistent, accessible and aligned to our product principles.

This role requires:

  • Experience of wireframing
  • Previous experience with design systems
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Strong experience managing stakeholder expectations & balancing with needs of the customer
  • Demonstrated experienced with conducting user research over a variety of methods including surveys, interviews & user testing including presenting research

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have passion for learning and a curious mindset
  • Be open-minded and adaptable in responding to new challenges and opportunities
  • Be highly collaborative, and lead by example
  • Understand that you contribute to your team, and look to drive team success

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
