Are you ready to reimagine the way we help customers?

CommSee is Commonwealth Bank's unique core assisted channel platform, empowering over 30,000 bank staff to deliver exceptional services to our customers. We're embarking on an exciting journey to reimagine the CommSee experience, transforming how we serve our customers now and in the future.

About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join the CommSee crew. If you’re energized by ambiguity and love turning complexity into clarity, and are equally comfortable running discovery sessions, facilitating workshops, and in the pixels delivering iterative solutions, always asking, "What's next?" — we want to hear from you!

You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution, playing a key role in shaping the product and the broader customer experience.

Our Approach:

We're building an evolved product-focused way of working across product, design, and engineering. You'll be joining a recently created crew, and play a role in helping to define our methodologies and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive end-to-end product design, from discovery to delivery, with an iterative mindset.

  • Identify and lead discovery work to uncover problems, define focus and validate opportunities.

  • Plan, facilitate and playback user research using the right methods for the problem at hand

  • Collaborate closely with your product trio to identify problems, define direction and scope, and iteratively deliver solutions.

  • Contribute to evolving our design library and system for consistency, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Manage communication and stakeholder relationships effectively.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience across the entire product design process (research, discovery, design, delivery).

  • You’re outcome-focused, adaptable, and open to evolving your approach as new insights emerge - ability to evolve approach as design progresses and new insights and problems are uncovered.

  • Excellent communication skills and storytelling ability with a true love of collaboration be it with peers, managers, stakeholders or other functions, you’re as comfortable sketching ideas on a whiteboard with engineers as you are presenting strategic concepts to stakeholders

  • Strong influence skills to drive strategy and outcomes, ensuring our users are always prioritised.

  • Passionate about data and metrics, and an ability to turn data into action

  • Expertise in crafting wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma).

  • Proficiency in interaction design, information architecture, and testing methodologies.

  • Ability to think beyond pixels, understanding business priorities, user psychology, and tech constraints.

  • Passion for staying ahead of design trends, tools, technologies (eg AI), and best practices.

  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a purpose-driven team shaping the future of banking

  • You’ll be part of a highly collaborative, customer-first culture.

  • You’ll have ownership and autonomy to shape the product as a key member of a cross-functional team.

If this role rounds like the next move for you please apply with a CV and a portfolio that showcases end-to-end product design process, craft, outcomes and measurable impact.

If you're already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you'll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application. We’re keen to support you with the next step in your career.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
