Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
About the Group/Team
At Canva, we empower everyone to design, using technology to simplify challenges and enhance the enjoyable parts of the design process. Our Generative AI (GenAI) supergroup aims to help 1 billion people realise their dreams through innovative tech, sparking a global creative renaissance. The AI Platform Group is a key component of the Generative AI supergroup, responsible for the delivery of capabilities which empower transformational ML and AI initiatives, from early ideation and prototyping, through to scaling to meet the needs of millions of Canva users in production. We empower thousands of engineers and product managers to deliver amazing product features which harness the power of cutting-edge technologies.
What you'll do:
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Define and champion the vision to scale GenAI capabilities, driving AI adoption that transforms user experiences and product potential.
- Evangelize GenAI's potential across Canva, providing guidance, resources, and inspiration to teams as they explore AI integration from 0 → 1.
- Partner with product and engineering leaders across Canva to build, integrate and distribute GenAI capabilities cohesively.
- Shape GenAI platform's strategic path, making AI a core enabler of innovation at Canva.
What we're looking for
- You have a deep passion for GenAI - someone who understand how AI models, platform capabilities and experiences can come together to unlock groundbreaking opportunities for Canva's future growth.
- You bring experience from working on GenAI platforms or products (ideally both), with a keen eye for how to integrate GenAI into compelling solutions.
- You're passionate about product craft, and introducing product thinking to a highly technical problem space.
- You relish the challenge of bringing new platforms to life, and driving their internal adoption in line with the value they deliver to the business.
- You have a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges, especially in taking projects from 0 to 1.
- You're a strong communicator - you can tailor the messaging on GenAI technology to resonate cross specialities to drive big outcomes, and have collaborated with senior stakeholders to drive clarity through chaos.
- You're comfortable moving forward even if we don't have all the information available to us, balancing first-principles reasoning with available data to drive impactful results.
