The Cloud and Network Automation team supports the Group wide commitment to delivering world-class software tools that optimize processes and increase efficiencies across our technologies.
Your Role
As a Senior Engineer focused on Network centric Automation and Systems, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing and implementing custom software driven automation solutions for integrating and managing network elements such as Firewalls, Switches and other Network Assets. You will collaborate closely with our Network Engineering and Security teams to create robust, scalable and secure automation tools that streamline our Network Assets data and processes, helping to enhance our network security posture. To achieve this, your role will require you to:

Develop and maintain high-performing, scalable applications using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and other containerisation technologies.

Design and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CDK for reliability and cost-efficiency.

Implement CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions to streamline deployment processes.

Work with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL to ensure they are optimised for performance and scalability, addressing growth and user demands effectively.

Implement monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and maintain security protocols to protect data and ensure compliance with regulations.

Use collaboration tools like Slack, Jira, or Confluence, to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
Your Skills and Experiences
You are an experienced Platform Engineer, whose career has been focused on automation, network security and DevSecOps practices. A summary of highly regarded skills for success in this role include:

Proficient in Python: Strong programming skills with experience in backend development using Django or similar frameworks.

Containerisation & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms for infrastructure deployment.

Frontend Basics: Familiarity with ReactJS, ViteJS, NextJS, or similar frameworks for frontend integration.

CI/CD Tools: Knowledge of Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or other automation tools.
-
Monitoring & Logging: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar monitoring and logging tools.

Infrastructure Automation: Proficiency in Terraform or Ansible for cloud infrastructure provisioning.

Networking Basics: Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, TCP/UDP) and their application in a network environment.
