The role & impact:
As Senior Partnerships Manager for Australia & New Zealand, you’ll own end-to-end, high-impact partnerships that drive Xero’s growth. From identifying and negotiating complex product and channel deals to executing and scaling them, you’ll build and lead strategic relationships across payments, banking, ecosystem and channel partners. Working closely with Product, Go-To-Market and senior stakeholders, you’ll turn strategy into action and deliver real commercial impact - fast.
The team & how they work:
This team sits at the centre of Xero’s growth engine—shaping strategy, solving real business problems and closing high-impact deals. Reporting into our GM of Partnerships, day to day - this team of 6 brings external market and partner insight to the table to influence Xero’s partnership direction. We embrace a hybrid working model that balances office-based "boost days" for collaboration with the autonomy to manage your own in office schedule.
Initially, you will focus on:
Action & Execution: Identify and independently execute new product and channel partnership opportunities, involving the right people early across Xero, to drive quick and efficient execution. You will also collect, categorise, and synthesise data and insights to inform key decisions.
Deal Ownership: Independently own and close complex, high-value deals that require iteration and alignment with Product, GTM, and other parts of Xero.
Partner Management: Be responsible for a portfolio of partner relationships across the region (across channel, product, and ecosystem), and help to execute policy changes with connected app partners. Proactively identify problems, seek to rectify them, and drive systemic improvements where needed.
Accountability & Influence: Take a project management approach to your partnership activities, ensuring clear roles and accountability for yourself and relevant stakeholders at every stage of a deal cycle. Consistently deliver on commitments and provide actionable solutions to stakeholders.
Here are some of the things we are looking for:
Extensive experience with product and channel partnerships.
Broad knowledge of technology and software development, experience in the B2B software or financial services industry.
A solid track record of addressing customer needs through innovative partnerships.
A track record of independently owning and executing complex, high-value channel and product deals with executive stakeholders.
Expert negotiation skills, commercial knowledge, and effective risk management.
Fluency and applied curiosity in leveraging AI tools for personal productivity (e.g., deal summarisation, complex communication drafting, market analysis) and for strategically identifying new high-impact partnership opportunities.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
