This role is approximately 70% hands-on development and 30% team leadership, working with a small, high-functioning team to deliver quality solutions while coaching and guiding team members.

Strong problem-solving skills, solution design capabilities, and infrastructure knowledge are highly valued. Primary expertise in Azure Cloud is essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs using .NET Core and Azure integration within a microservices architecture.

  • Lead and mentor a small team of developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and coaching to support skill growth and best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including application and infrastructure-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

  • Apply strong solution design skills to address challenges across development and cloud infrastructure.

  • Oversee development standards, system specifications, and documentation.

  • Drive the team to follow agile best practices, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

  • Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

  • Provide clear status updates and reporting metrics to leadership.

  • Act as the escalation point for technical decisions and ensure smooth collaboration between developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Work split: Approximately 70% hands-on .NET Core development and Azure integration, 30% leadership, team management, and coaching.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in .NET/C# Core development with strong knowledge of integration design patterns for building APIs from the ground up, including error handling and reconciliation mechanisms.

  • Deep understanding of synchronous/asynchronous communication patterns, especially with Azure Service Bus and Azure Event Hub.

  • Strong SQL (MSSQL) skills and experience with TDD/Unit Testing.

  • Practical experience with Azure services such as Service Bus, Key Vault, App Service, Application Insights, Cosmos DB, API Management, etc.

  • Strong infrastructure understanding for cloud-hosted applications, ideally within Azure.

  • Azure DevOps experience, including pull requests, code reviews, and environment migrations using pipelines.

  • Knowledge of security, logging, auditing, and performance monitoring for end-to-end processes.

  • Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and Confluence.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams, coach developers, and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering effective technical and infrastructure solutions.
