Company Description

A bit about us

At Judo, we’re redefining business banking for the modern era. Built on teamwork, trusted relationships and a challenger spirit, we exist to better serve Australian SMEs. What began in 2016 as a bold idea has grown into one of the fastest‑growing new banks globally, with more than 30 locations nationwide.

We put our people and customers at the heart of everything we do. Our agility means we can say ‘yes’ when others say ‘no’, delivering personalised banking that helps businesses access the funding they need, when they need it. Relationships matter here – with our customers and with each other.

Our culture – a multi‑award‑winning place to work

We firmly believe that culture eats strategy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and that the most important investment we can make is in our people. Our values of Trust, Teamwork, Accountability and Performance guide how we work every day

Judo was built from the ground up with a clear purpose: to be the most trusted SME business bank in Australia. Our customers and relationships are at the heart of how we work, not bureaucracy. We think differently, invite new ideas, and create an environment where people feel they belong and are empowered.

We’re proud to be externally recognised too – including being named on the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list for four consecutive years. We are certified as a Great Place To Work® Australia organisation, being recognised as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces™ 2025, celebrating our dedication to fostering an inclusive, empowering environment.

Our vision is to build a world-class SME business bank and it’s our people that can make it happen.

Job Description

Now, about this opportunity…

The Performance & Insights team helps Judo make smarter decisions, improve lending performance and create better experiences for our bankers and customers.

You’ll combine data, commercial thinking and curiosity to uncover what’s happening across the lending business, why it matters and what we should do next. Turning insights into action, you’ll also help lead key lending and customer experience initiatives.

Success isn’t measured by the number of reports you produce. It’s measured by the impact you create through better decisions, stronger business outcomes and better experiences.

If that excites you, this just might be your dream job:

  • Turn data into decisions by identifying key business questions, analysing performance and delivering actionable insights that guide decisions across Judo.
  • Get under the surface of performance, using deep dives to understand the why behind the numbers and identify opportunities to improve lending, banker and customer outcomes.
  • Lead work from idea to outcome, bringing together stakeholders, data and different perspectives to deliver practical, meaningful results.
  • Solve new and ambiguous problems, turning loosely defined business questions into clear analysis, recommendations and actions.
  • Make complex things simple by translating data and analysis into compelling stories and insights stakeholders can readily understand and use.
  • Challenge traditional thinking with curiosity and fresh perspectives, while working across analysis, business performance and strategic initiatives as priorities evolve.

Qualifications

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous questions and turn data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
  • Practical experience working with data using tools such as Excel and Power BI, with a basic knowledge of SQL or a willingness to develop it further.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and visualise complex insights for different audiences.
  • Experience leading projects, workstreams or pieces of analysis, working across teams and bringing stakeholders along the journey.
  • An intellectually curious and commercially minded approach, with a natural tendency to ask why, test assumptions and connect data to customer outcomes and business performance.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast moving environment, adapting as priorities change and knowing when to seek input or support.

We’re less interested in finding someone who ticks every box and more interested in someone with the analytical foundations, curiosity and drive to learn quickly and make an impact.

Why you’ll love working at Judo:

  • Two Weeks of Additional Leave Every Year

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
